Life Chose Me

Life Chose Me

Here I am

Minding my own business

Here comes life

Oh, so seductive

Life wants me

Next thing I know-

I’m alive

Alive is not bad

Alive is good

Sometimes though

Alive ain’t all its cracked up to be

Then

I want to let go of life

But

Life won’t let me be

You see,

Life chose me.

For whatever purpose

Life leads me

Till my work here is done

Then, life, my old buddy and I

Will part ways

For whatever reason

Life chose me

The  poem simply means that none of us have the option of choosing to be born or not. For good or bad, here we are. While we may not have a hand in the circumstances surrounding our birth, we can really try to make our lives count.

Everyday

Posted: 03/25/2008

Everyday of my life, I find something to be thankful for. Life may not always be a bed of roses, but if you look closely enough, there is for the most part, always a gem hidden away in the grime.

Evidence of this is all around. You can’t watch the news or read the papers these days without something really making you wonder at the seeming futility of life. In the papers, a woman who lost her two legs in an accident is seeking for financial assistance, so she can travel to Germany to have artificial limbs, or prosthetics fitted, just so she can have the semblance of a normal life.

An infant, less than three months old, who is abandoned in a refuse dump - discarded like she was so much rubbish, is found by a pig which eats part of her scalp, before someone sees the gory sight and chases the pig away. Now, money is needed for her to get skin grafts to cover the patch on her head. It is most horrible, but it does tend to put things in perspective, make you understand that no matter what, there is always something to be thankful for. Also, usually, things like this tend to bring out the good in people, and kind of restore ones faith in the human race.

Oh, to have all the money I could ever want, these are the kind of people I would really love to assist- on the down low.

Like I always say, it’s not what you acquire - you cannot take it with you, rather, it’s the blessings you leave, through the lives you have touched.

Go out and touch someone’s life today.

The Right Investment

Poem For The Day

Love Is...

A spring that wells from

Deep within my soul

Its pure, your joy is

My very main goal

Love is the tear that

I cry when I’m with

You, of happiness

True, it’s no myth

Love sees you clearly…

And loves you anyway

I had a couple of interviews this week, on the subject of my book. I had the great honor of meeting one very great lady. She runs an organization called Media Mentors, and basically, what they do is to encourage people who want to make an impact in various spheres of endeavor to believe in themselves, and to celebrate these people. It was on the platform of Media Mentors that I got the interviews.

This is precisely the sort of thing I would love to do myself, because, I know for a fact that there is no greater joy than that which comes from giving selflessly to others. There is no greater investment than storing riches in people, because, it propagates itself.

I guess all it goes to show is that God still uses people to bless other people.

I hope you touch someone’s life in some wonderful way, today.

No Competition

NO COMPETITION

At my pace

I’m in no rush

If it’s meant to be…

At my pace

I look at none

Whenever I wake up

Why, that’s my morning

In my own time

External factors

Don’t Move Me

My inner rhythm

Beats its own beat

As does yours

You dance to yours

I’ll dance to mine

No competition

Only Gods face

Will I seek

If it’s meant to be…

Indeed, life is not a race. Those who choose to view it differently only end up hurting themselves needlessly. We all came to the world basically pre-packaged with an agenda, the trick is to find out what that plan is, and embrace it. Truly, whatever will be, will be. Some call it fate, some call it destiny, but, whatever you choose to call it, the effect is still the same. The word of God says “the race is not to the swift, neither is the battle to the strong, time and chance happens to them all”

On that note, I’d like to say, do your very best, and leave the rest to God, trust me, he knows the beginning from the end.

The dreamer

Posted: 03/07/2008

What would life be without hope, without a vision, something that acts as a life vest and beacon in life’s turbulent seas? A panic room where we can go to regain our calm and perspective when our peace of mind is under the laser sights of adversity?

I’m sure you would much rather really live than just coast - that is simply no life at all. And what better way to live than to give, the satisfaction that comes from knowing you gave life your best shot?

I’ve been accused by people who should know better of being a dreamer, of wanting too much out of life. Well,  guess what, if beautiful things like my book right here are the fruits of dreaming, then,  you can be sure there’s a truckload of fruit to be harvested in my future.Besides,  wasn’t the world as we know it today built by dreamers? If I had allowed all the nay-sayers to rain on my parade, what would I have gained?

Anyway, I’d rather aim for the stars, and if I land on Saturn (I rather like those beautiful rings!) then, that’s not bad at all.

This book is only a tiny drop in the vast ocean of my dreams. By the grace of God, there’s so much more where this one came from, I’ll surely keep you posted.

I’m so glad you took the time to check out my author’s website I’ll be updating my blogs regularly so, drop in anytime - the surf is always good here!.

God bless you, and may your dreams take wing and fly!!!

Poem for the day

I really, really

I’m vindicated.

My persistence, my patience

O! My endurance

Justify the fate

I’ve created for me.

If this is, the only thing

I ever do.

My life,

Has not been in vain.

I’m glad to say,

If you knew me then

Way back when

Take a good look now

And tell me, oh tell me,

If I don’t clean up well.

A bulging heart

A bulging life

Tons of grace

A smattering of

Divine providence

-hallelujah! My, my

I really, really

Clean up well.
